Pete and I were married on July 11, 1987, coincidentally the same day as our 10 year reunion.  We were blessed with twin boys named James & Peter who were 7 years old when he died.  They will be 21 in a few weeks.

Peter was a successful bank attorney, an avid golfer, softball player, member of Greek Orthodox Church and a true family man.  We had 11 wonderful years together until cancer entered our lives and took Pete from us in the fall of 1998.  He was 39 when he passed and we all miss him still.

Pete's boys have grown up now.  James is finishing his senior year at University of Missouri 'Mizzou' majoring in in journalism strategic communications & business.  Pete is a senior at University of Madison majoring in business finance & real estate.  They are very much like their father.

Thank you for sharing that Catherine. I knew Pete at Maine West (not well), and he was a great guy, very well liked.

It is such a shame that he got sick. Too young to be forgotten. He is remembered. May your kids grow up to be like their dad, and know he was wonderful.

Blessings to you and your family.

Catherine,

Thank you for sharing. I remember Pete in high school and heard he went on to be an attorney. When I heard he had passed, I was shocked and never knew what happened until now. Can't even imagine what you and your children went through, but seems like you did a great job raising them, especially with all you had to endure as a young mother without her husband/father of her children, taken too soon. I wish the best for you and your boys. Too sad, too young, too soon.

Oh wow Catherine so sorry. I just read that Pete passed away from Melanoma, on your page. I was diagnosed in 1989 with Melanoma also, stage 4. I had one son at the time who was 14 months old ( 2 more sons after, now 27,22,17) and when I entered the hospital, I thought for sure I was not coming home. The 5 year difference between all my boys was due to my Melanoma. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your sons.
